NUTRITION IDEAS
When I was at my sickest, or even now when I need better nutrition, I often lean on nutritional powders. They help my energy levels and my general health when my diet is not at its best. I also find them to be a great tool when traveling, as making the best food choices can be hard. Oftentimes, I did not get enough nutrition because I lacked the energy to prepare food, and other times it was because we needed to get to the store. This helps me fill in those gaps, and I try t

BPVV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo)
BPPV is an inner ear disorder that causes episodes of vertigo when changing head positions. It was an awful experience for me personally and seemed to come on after I had a viral issue. It was extremely scary, and it took a few months to eliminate the severe symptoms. I honestly still have a little bit of it going on when sitting or laying in certain positions. Described by Healthline ( https://www.healthline.com/health/benign-positional-vertigo) "BPV is the result of a d

CALMING THE NERVOUS SYSTEM - MY ADVICE
I do somatic therapy every week, as it's covered by my insurance. I wanted to share this tip because it really helped me. Before I took a trip, I was super nervous because I had not traveled for about 10 years and I was super concerned about how my body would handle it. I didn't want to slow anyone down or ruin one moment of my family's time. I admit I tend to be more of a hyper person, and my nervous system can get wound up very easily. Part of this is just my personality a

SAVORY PROTEIN BARS
This is a new savory protein bar option. The owner was knowledgeable about the devastating effects of Lyme and offered a giveaway to my groups. I found these bars a nice change as I need more protein and get so sick of the overly sweet options. My personal favorite was the everything flavor. CHOCOLATE
I will continue to add to this. I know how hard it is to have a clean diet. I hope the ideas below bring you joy! Oobli My son loves this as much as I do. I grabbed this to understand. "Derived from about a dozen fruits primarily found in West Africa and other equatorial environments, sweet proteins are a class of proteins that deliver a sugar-like sweetness but none of the negative health impacts. Sweet proteins are basically nature’s candy. They taste like sugar but dige

BOLUOKE
"One of the advantages of Boluoke® (lumbrokinase) is that it does not interfere with the clotting cascade, but instead, works by reducing fibrinogen and fibrin. Boluoke® does not affect INR or aPTT, thus is compatible with Coumadin or heparin." https://chroniclymediseasehelp.com/canada-rna-biochemical-boluoke-lumbrokinase-ships-free "Lumbrokinase may: break apart biofilms, improve blood flow to the tissues by decreasing sticky blood (hypercoagulation), decrease crampy muscl

RAWLS
Dr. Rawls is a well-known and respected doctor in the Lyme community. He is a great source of information, especially if you are looking to self-treat. Please take a look at the articles and websites below as they provide all the information to help you make a decision if it feels like the right fit for you. SOT (Supportive Oligonucleotide Technique)
Supportive Oligonucleotide Technique (SOT) is a treatment for some infections. Over the last few years, it has grown in popularity as a treatment for Lyme Disease in particular. However, there are mixed and conflicting results and feedback on SOT for Lyme. We are always hopeful. We are not promoting or discouraging it's use but want to cover the subject for our members. I have spoke to many who have benefited. I often ask my Lyme doctor about it. Unfortunately, SOT can be exp

IVERMECTIN
I am in the midst of finding and gathering information on this topic since it comes up often. Please email us with any resources you have on the topic. I have used and it was prescribed by my doctor to a compounding pharmacy. "Evaluation of the inhibitory effect of ivermectin on the growth of Babesia and Theileria parasites in vitro and in vivo" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6625054/ https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/medicine-and-dentistry/ivermectin "

LYSINE
Lysine is an extremely common mention, especially in the EBV group. I have put a few related blogs at the bottom. I want to always thank Toni H. for always being so helpful to the community (and me) on this important topic. "Lysine is directly antiviral and that includes EBV and other herpes viruses. In fact, lysine is one of the most effective antiviral supplements for herpes simplex, including cold sores, canker sores, and genital herpes (Walsh et al., 1983). I’ve seen it

EDS - EHLERS DANLOS SYNDROME
We have been asked many times to cover this topic. We hope this helps with some resources to understand. "Hypermobility and mast cell activation syndrome connection?" https://drtaniadempsey.com/ehlers-danlos-syndrome-hypermobility-and-mast-cell-activation-syndrome-the-connection/? fbclid=IwAR0ipjjCxOaLiSVRzpcC8NfRMaFqxKeZr78jL2idi3KoSdMtEsXQriFPDnI "One of the most striking examples of how Lyme disease co-infections can wreak havoc on the extracellular matrix and connective t

LYME DISEASE AND CO-INFECTION TESTING
Please email me with any new resources you learn to help me keep this up to date! I wanted to start by having you look at these two: https://www.riseabovelyme.com/post/most-common-symptoms https://www.riseabovelyme.com/post/lyme-questionnaire It is best to have a Lyme literate doctor order the tests they choose is right for you. https://www.riseabovelyme.com/post/lyme-literate-doctors LIST OF RELATED BLOGS FOR FULL UNDERSTANDING: CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS https://www.riseabovelyme.c

MEDICARE TESTING COVERAGE
For those with Medicare, they cover IGENEX, GALAXY and REAL TIME LABS. For Igenex, have an MD sign the order. Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover ND orders. I found it is best to get my Lyme literate doctor to fill out the orders and then take them to my primary to fill out the rest of the paperwork. In order for Medicare to cover Real Time labs it must be ordered by a practitioner. You can definitely self order Real Time labs in most states (not all unfortunately) but
