BPVV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo)

Updated: 3 days ago

BPPV is an inner ear disorder that causes episodes of vertigo when changing head positions.

It was an awful experience for me personally and seemed to come on after I had a viral issue. It was extremely scary, and it took a few months to eliminate the severe symptoms. I honestly still have a little bit of it going on when sitting or laying in certain positions.

Described by Healthline (https://www.healthline.com/health/benign-positional-vertigo) "BPV is the result of a disturbance inside your inner ear. The semicircular canals, or the tubes inside your ears, contain fluid that moves when you change your body’s position. The semicircular canals are extremely sensitive. BPV develops when small crystals of calcium carbonate that are normally in another area of the ear break free and enter the semicircular canals. It can also happen when these crystals form inside the semicircular canals. This causes your brain to receive confusing messages about your body’s position."

SOLUTION IDEAS:

  • Physical Therapy

  • IV Fluids

I made great improvements with those options but was told to try the following in addition to my protocol and I believe in them now. The supplements below absolutely improved my symptoms quickly:

  • Chinese Skullcap root (Scutellaria baicalensis) approximately 400mg: 1 cap 3x/d

  • Astaxanthine: 12 mg 2x/d
