Here are the most common supplements and herbals to help.

Inflammation is a big deal in this disease. We are including several articles about inflammation for a better understanding of the causes as well as solutions and prevention.

BINDERS

Toxicity is painful so binders taken regularly do make a difference. A list of binders (including the ones my doctor has me use) are listed here:

BOSWELLIA

Boswellia acts by many of the same mechanisms as pharmaceutical anti-inflammatory drugs do. All top brands carry boswellia and are 25% off above. Learn more here:

CBD post

My LLND said 40 to 50mg needed for lyme pain) I use Miriams and a discount can be found under this section.

GLUTATHIONE or NAC

*Personally I use Liposomal Glutathione by the top brand Quicklilver ($38 instead of $51)

and

Results RNA spray for convenience, taste and cost when traveling or on the go. ($30 instead of $40 with discount above).

*For NAC he has me use the DaVinci Labs 500mg on fullscript. $20 dollars, usually $27. But all top brands carry it.

Glutathione and NAC are both mentioned here:

LDN (LOW DOSE NALTREXONE)

My doctor put me on this right at diagnosis. Whether you're looking to learn about LDN used in treatment, convince or educate your doctor to prescribe it or trying to find a doctor who prescribes it, we can help. It is used to help pain and inflammation as well as modulate the immune system.

MAGNESIUM

I have always been advised to take this 2 or 3 times a day. Here is an easy to watch video I did on Magnesium. I explain the different types and their benefits:

MAGNESIUM MALATE is one of the better absorbed forms of magnesium, which increases both serum and muscle levels of magnesium. Preliminary research shows that it may be effective in treating symptoms of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I have used many brands. Currently I use the Jigsaw B Free SRT. That brand and other top brands are 25% off above.

MUSHROOM

Mushroom supplements can be amazing for this too. My research led me to two top mentions and a brand my doctor supports. Mushroom Emperors by Mushroom Wisdom ($34.74 instead of $45 with above discount)

or

Masters Blend by OM Organic Mushroom Nutrition ($20.24 instead of $27)

OMEGA

My LLND recommended I take 2 or 3x a day. I strongly support and suggest one: ROSITAS cod liver oil. Cod liver oil has the added benefits of vitamins A and D. Amazing brand and I can not take Vitamin D so it is a double duty supplement for me. It is $48.74. Don't pay $65 elsewhere

Learn about how it helps inflammation here:

PECTASOL C

My Lyme doctor has used Pectasol C as one of my binders for several years. He originally incorporated it 2 years ago after my extensive dental work to address that aspect of healing from these diseases (removing all metal and root canals). He has maintained it in my protocol twice a day. I used the powder and hated it so I use the capsules. It is 25% off on the fullfullscript above. It is so much cheaper there. Here is some information in case you want to learn about it's proven effectiveness.

PEMF MAT

I have used PEMF for years and I swear by it. Mine is also a sauna mat. I bought the one my doctor advised me to get. I love it and use every other day. The exact one I have and a way to get it cheaper can be found here:

QUERCETIN

It is known as a powerful antioxidant and a free-radical scavenger and is known to reduce some of the body’s strongest inflammatory chemicals like cytokines. I have used the Nutramedix one for years and now use Alpha-Glycosyl Isoquercitrin by Integrative Therapeutics as it is sometimes better tolerated. Pure Encapsulations is an excellent choice for Quercetin. All of these brands are 25% when you sign up for this discount account.

This also helps my histamine issues and helped me with IC in the past.

TURMERIC/CURCUMIN

All the top brands are available on the 25% off discount. Euromedica, Designs for Health and Integrative Therapeutics are top picks for this. You can learn about it here:

VITAMIN C

I now only use the Allergy Research brand Magnesium Ascorbate for Vitamin C. Magnesium Ascorbate is a buffered, non-acidic form of vitamin C and is considered gentle on the stomach and a top recommendation if you have histamine issues (which I do). It is usually $30, but with the discount, it is $22.49. Camu camu is another option. Here is our VITAMIN C FOR PAIN post:

TOPICAL OPTIONS:

AWESOME PRODUCT MULTI USE

NUTRASAL has a fast acting circulation and recovery cream. Worked great when I had Chillblains too. I have bought this many times. I used for my Dad's diabetic neuropathy and it is the only topical that worked for him. The benefits are kinda WOW. Usually $35, but it is only $26 on the 25% off fullscript discount above. Be sure to look at Nutrasal PPC 900 product too. It is an essential part of my protocol now.

ANCIENT MINERALS ULTRA MSM LOTION

This is my other favorite. My doctor recommended this as an option. It works great for neck and back pain. Where to buy and discount found here. Look for the magnesium lotion section.

INFLAMMATION

"In accordance with our Law of Pain, the origin of all pain is inflammation and the inflammatory response. The biochemical mediators of inflammation include cytokines, neuropeptides, growth factors and neurotransmitters. Irrespective of the type of pain whether it is acute or chronic pain, peripheral or central pain, nociceptive or neuropathic pain, the underlying origin is inflammation and the inflammatory response."

"Though you can’t actually see chronic inflammation, you can certainly feel it. It manifests as joint discomfort, stiffness, general achiness, fatigue, low stamina, brain fog, slow mental activity, depressed mood, and all the other symptoms associated with chronic Lyme disease. Simply put, you feel “inflamed.”

"Toxins get deep inside your fat cells and deep in your tissues, and over time they can lead to pain. This is why detoxification is so important. Detoxification allows your body to clean out what’s harmful and creates an opportunity for repair and renewal. Infrared sauna therapy may be one of the best ways to help your body open up its detoxification pathways."

It is well known that Lyme disease triggers white blood cells to make excess inflammation chemicals called cytokines. These cytokines cause pain.

"Antibiotic-refractory Lyme arthritis. Synovial fluid from these patients has been previously studied for the presence of regulatory T cells (Tregs). These immune cells, which are a subset of specialized T cells, were counted because they act as an “off switch” for inflammation. It was suspected that one pathway to long-term Lyme arthritis may be through insufficient or malfunctioning Tregs.

Magnesium and inflammation:

"In humans, low serum magnesium concentrations have been associated with high C-reactive protein (CRP)levels.[14,15] Several cross-sectional studies have reported inverse relationships between magnesium intake and some inflammatory markers, including high sensitive CRP (hs-CRP) and IL-6."

OMEGA 3 and inflammation:

"New study finds fish oil omega-3s EPA and DHA work differently on chronic inflammation"

CBD and inflammation:

"A study from the European Journal of Pain showed, using an animal model, CBD applied on the skin could help lower pain and inflammation due to arthritis. Another study demonstrated the mechanism by which CBD inhibits inflammatory and neuropathic pain, two of the most difficult types of chronic pain to treat"

"There are five primary categories of factors that weaken cells and set the stage for the chronic inflammation associated with Lyme disease."
