Finding a doctor who understands mold can make all the difference in healing.

A quick-view graphic with the key points is at the bottom of this post.

Dr. Jill Crista's doctor finder points to these directories you can search for a doctor near you:

QUESTIONS TO ASK A DOCTOR

- Do you check the home and environment first? Dr. Tania Dempsey says treating the body won't help if the exposure continues.

- Do you use urine mycotoxin testing? Dr. Nathan, Dr. Marty Ross and Dr. Dempsey all use it.

- Do you start binders low and slow? Dr. Nathan says too much too fast can make you feel worse.

- Do you look at mast cells and the nervous system? Dr. Nathan often calms these first in sensitive people.

- Do you check for mold living in the sinuses or gut? Dr. Nathan and Dr. Jill Carnahan find this is common.

- Do you also treat Lyme and co-infections? Dr. Dempsey finds mold and infections often go together.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL

- These names come from our community and trusted Lyme organizations. Always make sure a doctor is the right fit for you.
