Where you buy matters just as much as what you buy. Counterfeits are very common on marketplaces and with sellers you don't know, so I only buy from sources I trust.

Before I add anything new, I check with my doctor. Some supplements can interact with medications, and more isn't always better. It's worth asking if testing makes sense for you first.

When I do start something, I start small and go slow, especially with herbs. Let your body tell you how it feels before you build up.

Then I flip the bottle over. The front of the label doesn't tell me much, because "all-natural" and "clinically proven" are just marketing. I read the back. I look at the "other ingredients" list, and the shorter it is, the happier I am. I try to stay away from artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, and a long list of fillers. I also compare how much of the actual ingredient is in each brand, as long as I stay within the recommended dose.
