This is hours of work to help you identify and start to recognize symptoms that may be specific to Lyme and a few common co-infections. Some can present similar but certain symptoms are more specific. The symptoms they share are listed at the bottom.
MOST COMMON LYME SYMPTOMS
Many symptoms of Borrelia and different co-infections can be similar and a mixture of what we find in many of them. They all have their more prominent signs.
We hope this list helps you determine what is what. Please also see our Babesia and Bartonella MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS below as well.
If Lyme disease is not diagnosed and treated early, the spirochetes spread and go into hiding in different parts of the body. Weeks, months or even years later, the patient may develop problems with the brain, nervous system, circulation, muscles/joints, heart, digestion, reproductive system, and skin.

MOST COMMON BABESIA SYMPTOMS
Although a few symptoms do overlap between different infections, these are the most common symptoms for Babesia resourced from experts on Lyme and co-infections. As someone who had deeply struggled with Babesia, I really identify a lot with this list. This list also coincides when I had lab proof that Babesia was running the show.
Air hunger
Anemia
Anxiety
*Autonomic Nervous System Dysfunction
Bladder difficulties (difficulty
starting stream or incontinence )
Bowel-motility issues (constipation and occasional diarrhea)
Brain fog(cognitive impairment)
Chest pain
Depression
*Dizziness/vertigo
Fatigue
Fevers
Head symptoms (weird sensations and pressure in the head)
*Heat intolerance
Insomnia
*Low blood pressure
Migraines (Bart migraines are known to be more severe)
Muscle/ joint aches
Nausea
Night sweats / chills
Pain/numbness/temperature extremes (in wrists, hands, ankles and feet)
*POTS (please see this post to understand the symptoms)*symptoms can all be connected
Note: In general, Babesia does not cause severe pain in the body unless the patient has issues with detoxing properly. Pain is usually due to another problem and not from Babesia itself. However, muscle aches are common in Babesia. I am sure many of us have felt the distinct difference between extreme pain and having muscle aches.
