TIPS ON TINCTURES

Always go low and slow when adding anything. Tinctures are no different. We use colorful shot glasses with a bit of water and add each tincture to those. Wait a while and then shoot. That is how Christina and I do it. I use several tinctures in my protocol since the beginning and still use them. My doctor uses the Professional Formulas tinctures as well as Nutramedix. Information in those at bottom. Both are 25% on the Rise Above Fullscript FYI. He also uses Byron White, Pekana, Researched Nutritionals and Beyond Balance. I do have a doctor who will sell to people I know with a discount on most of those too.

A member gave a great tip: shake up tinctures before each dose so that the bottom doesn't get too concentrated and cause possible herxing.

"Alcohol extractions (known as tinctures) are used in herbal medicines as they are the most efficient and strongest way of extracting many of the herb’s compounds, as not all of them are available in a hot water or glycerine extract. For example, clinical studies have shown that oregano is a good antimicrobial as an alcohol extract (or as an essential oil) but is very ineffective as a hot water extract."

"Tinctures are concentrated herbal extracts made by soaking the bark, berries, leaves (dried or fresh), or roots from one or more plants in alcohol or vinegar."

"Many of the plant tinctures, capsules and powders offered by Beneficial Botanicals have been recommended by herbalists listed below to treat Lyme Disease and associated co-infections."
