Bayer has confirmed they have discontinued. Many of you already know this but doesn't hurt to make sure, since someone may need today. Alka Seltzer Gold is amazing at alkalizing the body to help when herxing. Not always easy to find when you need it NOW. You can order online but here is some information so you have some alternatives. Regular Alka Seltzer has aspirin in it but the GOLD version uses potassium bicarbonate instead. Bi Carb by Klaire on Fullscript is a great alternative according to a lyme doctor I discussed the topic with.
25% off Bi Carb here:
Dr. Bill Rawls below with some basics.
"Alka Seltzer Gold is actually not a drug. All it is citric acid and bicarbonate. When the bicarbonate in Alka Seltzer Gold is mixed with water, it creates an alkaline solution that, when consumed, neutralizes free radicals throughout the body and reduces inflammation.
When you consume lemon juice containing citric acid or apple cider vinegar containing acetic acid, the citric acid and acetic acid are neutralized in the small intestine to citrate and acetate, which are alkalizing buffers. When citrate and acetate are absorbed into the bloodstream, these substances act just like bicarbonate to neutralize free radicals in tissues, which reduces inflammation."
He suggests avoiding taking Alka Seltzer Gold directly with food, because it will reduce stomach acid and inhibit digestion.
ALKA SELTZER GOLD ALTERNATIVE?
OK deep dive and found an alternative for Alka seltzer gold on Fullscript. The brand is Klaire and it is called Bicarb. Easy to take. I ordered to test myself. I wanted to do this for a long time. The sodium part isn't perfect but close enough and excellent brand and more cost effective.
I show 22 cents per Alka seltzer gold tablet
I show 9 cents for the Klaire Bicarb (with 25% discount applied under Fullscript..see below) No citric acid so that is great for those looking to avoid. I think 1 tablet equals 1 capsule in my opinion in order to maintain the potassium bicarb amount.

I also wanted to include that I was told I could use 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda as an option when I was out.
